Apartment Moving Cost in Dubai
Planning an apartment move in Dubai and wondering what you should actually budget? A studio, 1-bedroom and 3-bedroom move can have very different costs — and the apartment size is only part of the story.
We break down realistic estimated prices, packing costs, high-rise access, dismantling, furniture volume and the factors that can change your final moving bill.
Estimated Apartment Moving Costs in Dubai
Before you contact a mover, it helps to know the realistic market range. The figures below are useful for planning your budget — but they are estimated ranges, not fixed prices.
Your final price depends on the actual furniture volume, packing requirements, building access, dismantling, moving date and distance between the two apartments.
| Apartment Type | Transport Only | With Full Packing | Typical Crew | Typical Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Studio | AED 700 to AED 1,200 | AED 1,000 to AED 1,600 | 2 movers | 3 to 4 hours |
| 1 bedroom | AED 1,000 to AED 1,800 | AED 1,500 to AED 2,400 | 2 to 3 movers | 4 to 5 hours |
| 2 bedroom | AED 1,800 to AED 3,000 | AED 2,500 to AED 3,800 | 3 to 4 movers | 5 to 7 hours |
| 3 bedroom | AED 2,800 to AED 4,500 | AED 3,800 to AED 5,500 | 4 to 5 movers | 6 to 9 hours |

Transport Only or Full Packing?
This is one of the biggest reasons two apartment moving quotes can look completely different.
Transport only
Your household items are already packed. The moving team protects furniture where needed, loads everything, transports it to the new apartment, unloads and places the items.
This option can make sense if you’ve already packed your kitchen, clothes, books and other household items yourself.
Full packing
The moving team handles the packing before loading. Boxes, bubble wrap, stretch wrap and other suitable packing materials are used for household items, furniture and fragile belongings.
Full packing costs more because you are paying for both materials and additional labour time — but it can save you hours or even days of preparation.
Approximate packing add-on
| Apartment Type | Approximate Packing Add-On |
|---|---|
| Studio | AED 300 to AED 500 |
| 1 bedroom | AED 500 to AED 800 |
| 2 bedroom | AED 700 to AED 1,200 |
| 3 bedroom | AED 1,000 to AED 1,500 |
These are estimates. A home with a large kitchen, lots of glassware, artwork or specialist items can require more packing time than another apartment of the same size.
The key when comparing quotes: don’t compare a transport-only price with a full-packing price and assume the cheaper one is better.

What Actually Changes the Price?
Apartment size gives you a starting point. Your belongings and the two buildings determine what the move actually involves.
1. Furniture volume
Two 2-bedroom apartments can have completely different moving requirements. One may have minimal furniture while another has a full living room, large wardrobes, extra storage, dining furniture and a packed kitchen.
When asking for a quote, describing your main furniture gives the mover a much better idea than simply saying “2-bedroom”.
2. Dismantling and reassembly
Large beds, wardrobes, dining tables and modular furniture may need dismantling before they can safely pass through doors, corridors or service elevators.
Always ask whether dismantling and reassembly are included in the quote.
3. High-rise elevator access
A high-floor apartment does not automatically mean an expensive move, but the building’s access rules can affect the time required.
Service elevators may have specific booking windows, loading areas may be controlled and multiple trips may be required for a large apartment.
4. Fragile and specialist items
Artwork, glassware, electronics, mirrors, decorative pieces and other delicate belongings can require additional wrapping, boxes and handling time.
5. Moving date
End-of-month dates are usually busier in Dubai because many tenancy contracts finish around the end of the month. Mid-month weekdays can offer more scheduling flexibility.
6. Distance and access at both addresses
The driving distance matters, but so does the distance from the apartment to the loading point. A long corridor, basement parking or restricted loading area can add time even when the two communities are relatively close.

Studio Apartment Moving Cost
A studio can be one of the quickest apartment moves in Dubai — especially when the furniture volume is limited and access is straightforward.
A realistic planning range is around AED 700 to AED 1,200 for transport-only service, or approximately AED 1,000 to AED 1,600 when full packing is included.
The figure can change if the apartment contains a large wardrobe, bed that needs dismantling, extensive kitchen contents or fragile items requiring careful packing.

1 Bedroom Apartment Moving Cost
One-bedroom apartments are among the most common residential moves in Dubai, but the contents can vary considerably from one customer to another.
A typical planning range is AED 1,000 to AED 1,800 for transport only and around AED 1,500 to AED 2,400 with full packing.
A king-size bed, large wardrobe, sofa, dining furniture and a fully stocked kitchen can increase the workload. Dismantling may also be needed to move larger pieces safely.

2 Bedroom Apartment Moving Cost
This is where furniture volume starts making a noticeable difference to the moving time and crew requirements.
A realistic planning range is around AED 1,800 to AED 3,000 for transport only, or approximately AED 2,500 to AED 3,800 with full packing.
A typical 2-bedroom move may include two bedroom sets, wardrobes, sofa and living-room furniture, dining furniture, kitchen contents and additional storage.
If the apartment is in a high-rise building, elevator booking and loading arrangements should be confirmed before moving day.

A 3-bedroom apartment move is usually a larger operation, especially when the household has been established for several years.
For planning purposes, expect around AED 2,800 to AED 4,500 for transport only and approximately AED 3,800 to AED 5,500 with full packing.
A larger crew may be required, and full packing can take a substantial part of the moving day. The final price depends heavily on furniture volume, kitchen contents, fragile items and access at both properties.

Don’t Choose a Mover by Price Alone
The cheapest quote isn’t necessarily the cheapest move.
A very low price can sometimes mean that important parts of the service are not included — packing materials, dismantling, reassembly, furniture protection or additional labour may be charged separately.
Before accepting a quote, ask exactly what the price covers and whether the estimate is based on your actual furniture and access conditions.
If you’re comparing companies, our guide on how to choose movers in Dubai can help you evaluate the quote properly.
